Bedroom Decor

DSC04810bWhen we moved early last year, I was excited to have a blank slate to decorate my bedroom. It’s literally been a work in progress ever since then. I’m finally really pleased with where it is now. I started just with the basic color scheme of Robins Egg Blue and White and then things really just went from there. I will link to items where I can, but my biggest tip is to head to Marshall’s and Kirkland’s! I found so many adorable finishing touches there for so inexpensive. Also, my room is only 10 x 10, so I had to fit a lot in a small amount of space and as you’ll see my bookshelf is more for functionality than styling purposes. (Minus my cowboy boots!)

Everly Fall 2013 Lookbook

Screen Shot 2013-08-26 at 9.31.22 AMYesterday the beautiful brand, Everly, released their Fall 2013 Lookbook and I died and went to heaven. I really will let the photos speak for themselves because they’re beautiful. The clothing is such perfection. I love that the pieces don’t scream fall because it makes them easy to transition from season to season and that increases the wearibility. (Is that a word? No? Oh well.) I think the bold patterns make an amazing statement and can easily be paired with any neutrals. Plus, the polka dot dress…I need. Definitely go check out their lookbook for even more of these incredible photos.

Easy Going

DSC04667bThis is my year round go to look when I don’t feel like actually trying. Depending on the season or the occasion, I’ll swap out the flats for sandals or boots and the short sleeve shirt for a long sleeve or tank top. I think it’s all in the details when you’re wearing just a tshirt and jeans. I ADORE my newest Rocksbox pieces including this dainty gold feather necklace from Urban Gem! Rocksbox is the most amazing jewelry subscription service. Each box has three designer jewelry pieces based on your preferences (colors, metals, types, etc) and you can keep them for up to 60 days or return your box as often as you’d like for three new ones sent to you! If you fall in love with any or all of the pieces, you can buy them for 20% off the retail price! I received a 6 month subscription for free to try out, but I have loved it so much that once it expires, I will be renewing for either $15/month for a year, $17/month for six months, or $19 monthly! It’s the perfect way to constantly change up your jewelry as often as you’d like!

Sigma Mrs. Bunny Essential Kit Review

DSC00491bYou can call this the most long overdue post in the history of MGD or the review of my Sigma Mrs. Bunny Essential Brush Kit! I received these for Christmas and I’ve been in love since the very first use. As a good blogger, I took pictures immediately before I even let them touch my face, but unfortunately they ended up in some rando folder. Alas, they’ve been found and the review is happening. Read on.
DSC00487b
DSC00488b
DSC00489bThe Mrs. Bunny Essential Kit is an adorable set of 12 Vegan Friendly brushes in a perfect travel tube that are made with Sigma’s famous Sigmax HD which besides the look of the brushes was the biggest selling point for me. They’re made to flawlessly apply both powder AND cream products with ease. I’ve never been one to shell out money on expensive makeup brushes, but I realized that if I’m spending the money on expensive makeup, I need to buy brushes that make those products look amazing. I’m SO glad I did because it changed the way my makeup looked because of how these brushes picked up and distributed product on my face and eyes. They make everything so blended and smooth. They’re SO worth it.
DSC00490bDuo Fibre F50, Large Powder F30, Large Angled Contour F40,  Foundation F60, Large Shader E60, Tapered Blending E40, Medium Angled Shading E70, Eye Shading E55, Concealer F70, Pencil E30, Eyeliner E05, Small Angle E65

I was really worried that they wouldn’t look or work as well after the first or second or even 50th wash and they did! They still work just as well today as they did back in December! I use them everyday and travel with them and honestly they’re worth every penny and for the price PER brush, they’re way less expensive than other high end brands such as MAC or Bobbi Brown.

DSC00492bAs you can see if you check out the Sigma brushes now, these have pink ferrules and the new version has the sleek slilver!! If you’re looking for makeup brushes, definitely check out this set or the travel version of Mrs. Bunny! They’re also available in the Mr. Bunny which has black handles. Plus, any Sigma Beauty purchase over $30 qualifies you for a free gift if you use that link or click through the link on my sidebar!! :)

June Cleaver 2.0

DSC04778bI’m a huge fan of the sixties housewife style. Call me old fashioned, but I like to think of my style as classic with a edge. I paired this fabulous polka dot shirtdress with stud pumps (similar to the beautiful Valentino, but like 5% of the cost and just as fabulous looking!) and my DIY pearl safety pin necklace. I think it’s the perfect mix of girly with the polka dots and pearls and edgy with the studs and safety pins. It’s all about keeping them guessing!

Creamsicle Cute

DSC04730bThe weather is showing no signs of breaking yet, so I feel like I’m running out of options that fit under the umbrella of cute, but cool (as in don’t make me feel like it’s 500 degrees outside!) Fancy Pants and I celebrated our anniversary on Sunday at dinner and the Arizona Science Center. (Nerd alert!) I decided to pair my favorite Lilly skirt with this bright orange creamsicle tshirt. I wanted to add something to make it really pop, so I finally got to wear my Ily Couture fringe necklace!! Currently it’s not shipping until September 2nd, so if you can’t wait, check it out on Benevolent Jewels (and use this code for 20% off your total purchase: MGDCODE20)!!!

Two Years

DSCN3359

My heart is so full today because of that kid up there. It was two years ago today that after one date and just a couple of days, Fancy Pants, asked me to be his girlfriend. I knew I was lucky, but with each passing day I’ve found more reasons that I’m the luckiest. After a few failed relationships, a broken heart or two, my confidence and faith in love was basically zilch, non existent. That boy changed all of that.

I got a job at a math tutoring center in January 2009 and this guy came in tuesday and thursday and hassled me for answers, constantly made me laugh, and even followed me home a time or two. ;) Sparks flew. Fast forward two years later, one facebook chat, and a few hour long date over Chipotle, Cold Stone, and Build A Bear and I was falling. Now I sit here, two years later wondering where the time went. We’ve seen each other through ups, downs, and changes galore. He gets me. Fancy Pants is one of the most giving, kind, caring, and amazing people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. His dreams are big, but his heart is even bigger. He keeps me strong and is my constant source of encouragement and motivation. I’m so blessed that God gave me this incredible human being. Even through the tough days, I know I can always count on him for a laugh and smile. I’ve never had such chemistry or clicked so well with anyone, like I do with FP. He’s my other half.

I could go on and on, believe me I would, but I think you get the picture. He’s wonderful. Two years flew by and I absolutely cannot wait to see what’s in store for the next hundred or so. ;) I know God has big things in store for each of us and even more for us together. I love you so mush, darling. Thank you for being the best thing that’s ever happened to me, truly. I couldn’t imagine spending my life with anyone else.
